1. Upload your image to a hosting service like ImageShack or Photobucket

2. After uploading, the hosting site may present you with a URL for the file. If so, select this and copy it to the clipboard (right-click, Copy)

3. If not, right-click on the hosted image itself and choose Copy Shortcut (IE) or Copy Link Location (Firefox)

4. Open the custom portrait dialog in the game. You can access this either during character creation, or later by clicking the portrait in the upper left of the inventory screen. Paste (or type) the URL of the image into the yellow field.

5. Click Load. The image should appear in the square area to the left. This may take a moment. If it does not appear, the image URL may be wrong or the hosting website may not allow remote links. Double check the URL, or try another image host.

6. Click Yes. All done!
